J is for Jingle Bells

Standard

Dashing through the traffic
In a packed, late-running bus
O’er the fields we go
Grumbling all the way
Phone alerts do ring
Remind me of deadlines
What “fun” it is to beg and scream
“I need to print this now!”
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, the panic that we feel
On these final days
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, the panic that we feel
On these final days
A day or two ago
I thought I’d have the time
To do some Christmas shopping
And still be done on time
Procrastination was the key
Misfortune seemed my lot
I didn’t think it’d be so hard
To do this final work

Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, the panic that we feel
On these final days
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, the panic that we feel
On these final days
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Essays due, research not done
I’m running out of time
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, the panic that we feel
On these final days

In loving memory of work motivation. Left our spirit oh-too-soon.
